First Annual Meeting of wildE project

The beginning of the year was started with the first online Annual Meeting of the Horizon Europe project wildE - a project researching climate-smart rewilding as a solution to the twin threats of climate change and biodiversity loss.

Through the intensive working days of the meeting more than 70 project partners from 22 organizations were processing the work that has been done in the first year, discussing the outcomes and the next year primary goals and plans.

Our SlovakGlobe research team working in the Work Package 2 focusing on rewilding practice, presented the working process on employing the institutional analysis within Task 2.3. Likewise, a PhD researcher introduced the dissertation work that has been done so far and its connectivity to the project.

Moreover, one of the main focuses of the project work nowadays is the stakeholder engagement approach, that was mainly discussed during the meeting, since the near future of the wildE project is going to be filled with case studies´ workshops focusing on the ecological restoration for climate change mitigation, adaptation and biodiversity support in Europe. Our research team co-leading the cross-border rewilding case study National Park High Tatras introduced the plan for social and political research for 2024 including the organisation of WP2 and key stakeholders kick off meeting this May in Stará Lesná.
