SlovakGlobe a research centre of the Institute of Forest Ecology Slovak Academy of Sciences was formed in 2019. This centre concerns interdisciplinary research on management of global change mainly in following areas:
Managing global change for societal transition to sustainability
- Governance and business innovations for long-term sustainability and carbon neutrality of long lasting forest communities and marginalised vulnerable areas.
- Circular economy for transition from sectoral to ecosystem and integrative management of biodiversity, climate change adaptation and carbon neutral society.
Behavioral
change and knowledge co-production
- Behavioral and experimental approaches to analyse and predict key variables of sustainability change.
- Transdisciplinary approaches to facilitate transfer of social challenges between practice and targeting at EU and national policies.
- Testing novel incentives and policies for biodiversity and climate change management.

Meeting at municipal office in Velke Karlovice took place on March 5, 2024. Attendance was rich. Number of representatives of core group attended, including majors across the border, forest managers, the department of the Environment of NUTS 3 office in Zlín, forest authority, local school, farmers, tourism along with CETIP and SlovakGlobe team.
